Buy if:
  • ·You want a big 16-inch screen and care about value for money
  • ·You'd rather not think about finding a plug socket when you're out
  • ·You want writing up reports and browsing the web to feel comfortable
Avoid if:
  • ·It's ARM-based Windows, so take care if you rely on specialist work software or older peripherals
  • ·If heavy gaming or video editing is the goal, consider other options
  • ·It isn't really built for carrying around every day

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • A 16-inch screen with this much kit, at a price that really stands out
  • 19.6 hours rated battery, so you're not chasing plug sockets when you're out
  • 16GB of memory keeps it from slowing down with documents and tabs left open
  • Two USB4 ports plus HDMI and USB-A — plug in without an adapter
  • Face login and a camera shutter: easy sign-in, easy privacy

Cons

  • ARM-based Windows means older software and drivers for specialist kit can be hit and miss → Office, Chrome, Zoom and the other big apps run natively, so everyday use is fine
  • At about 1.88 kg (4.1 lbs) it's on the heavy side → if you're carrying it around all day, every day, a lighter 14-inch is worth considering
