Feature Review

Design

Yoga 7 2-in-1 Gen 10 comes in Seashell — a quiet, unfussy colourway that works equally well in a lecture theatre or a coffee shop. Lenovo's Yoga range has a solid reputation for build quality above its price bracket, and I'd expect this one to uphold that.

Clean, slim front profileClassic Yoga build quality

I've had non-2-in-1 Yoga machines before — the chassis quality really is excellent

The lid is clean too, with a logo that doesn't demand attention.

Simple, restrained rear panelUnderstated rear design

The headline figure is the thickness: 15.45 mm. Thin by any measure, but for a convertible with a full hinge inside, it's remarkable. Getting a 2-in-1 hinge into just 15.45 mm is a genuine engineering achievement. Slips easily into a rucksack without the bulk you'd normally expect from a convertible.

15.45 mm — impressively thin for a 2-in-1You'd hardly believe it folds into a tablet

2-in-1 Versatility

On to the interesting bit — what you actually get from the convertible form factor. Fold it into tablet mode and it's comfortable on the sofa for browsing or streaming. Pen input is supported, so you can scribble notes or sketch directly on screen — very handy for uni students or anyone who prefers handwriting.

The display mode is worth a mention too. Flip the keyboard face-down, hook up an external keyboard and mouse, and you've got a tidy little desktop setup wherever you happen to be. Particularly useful if you're not keen on the built-in keyboard.

Display mode as a compact desktopA proper mini desktop setup, anywhere

This is exactly what 2-in-1 PCs are built for 👍

Portability

Weight is around 1.4 kg — not featherlight, but for a 2-in-1 it's genuinely impressive for the category. Convertibles tend to weigh more due to the hinge, so coming in under 1.4 kg is a proper result. Should be fine carried to lectures or the office every day without it becoming a drag.

Around 1.4 kg — light for a convertibleManageable weight for everyday carry

Display Quality

This is the standout spec: a 14-inch OLED panel as standard. WUXGA (1920×1200), DCI-P3 100%, 600-nit HDR peak. Colour accuracy and contrast will be excellent — OLED blacks are proper deep, which means streaming films, editing photos, and watching video all look brilliant on this panel. The 16:10 ratio gives more vertical space, which makes a noticeable difference when reading articles or working in documents. Touch support means you can navigate it like a tablet.

Vivid OLED colours with deep blacksOLED contrast — you'll notice the difference immediately

Keyboard

The key layout is sensible and uncluttered — nothing odd to trip you up during normal typing. Yoga keyboards have always had a pleasantly soft feel on the keycaps, and I'd expect comfortable long-session typing from this one. Backlit, so dim-light use isn't an issue.

Clean, sensible key layoutNothing unusual, just a clean layout

Soft-touch keycapsThat signature Yoga soft-touch feel

Performance

The CPU is AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 — enough grunt for everyday work without any fuss. You'll handle daily tasks, light video editing, and casual gaming without trouble. The 16 GB LPDDR5x RAM means keeping multiple apps and browser tabs open won't slow things down. 2 TB SSD is very generous and you're unlikely to fill it in a hurry.

Plenty of performance for everyday useRyzen AI 5 340 — more than enough for the daily workload

Battery Life

Battery rating: long

70 Wh battery should deliver solid all-day use. OLED displays do draw more power, so bear that in mind — but with 70 Wh to play with, you've got plenty of headroom before hunting for a socket. Charges via USB-C, so a compact charger in your bag is all you need.

Connectivity

This is genuinely one of the stronger points. For a slim 2-in-1, the port selection is impressive: HDMI, 2× USB-C, 1× USB-A, microSD reader. Plenty of thin laptops strip back to USB-C only and leave you relying on a hub — having all the everyday ports in one place makes a real practical difference. Both USB-C ports handle PD charging and video output.

HDMI and USB-A on a slim 2-in-1Proper ports — no dongles required

Webcam

5 MP built-in webcam — noticeably better than the 2 MP you get on many mid-range machines. Video calls and online meetings should look fine. IR support for Windows Hello face unlock, with a physical privacy shutter for when you'd rather keep the lens covered.

5 MP webcam for video calls5 MP webcam — decent for remote meetings

Speakers

Dolby Atmos support puts the speakers above average. Paired with the OLED display, it's a capable all-in-one for films and streaming.

Security

Face unlock via the IR camera means you're in as soon as you open the lid — no password faff to start the day.

IR face unlock for instant loginOpen the lid, you're in — that's it

Price

The one fair criticism is the price. This spec level doesn't come cheap. That said, the value is genuinely solid when you factor in the OLED, the ports, and the 2-in-1 flexibility — and sale prices can make it an even stronger buy.

Verdict

The Yoga 7 2-in-1 Gen 10 is a well-judged convertible — good performance, a proper OLED display, a complete port selection, and a 2-in-1 form factor that doesn't feel like a compromise. The price is the only real sticking point. If you want one machine that handles tablet use, video, pen input, and everyday productivity, this is well worth considering.
